2023 BOD Spring Newsletter

Hello and Welcome Back,
We’ve had a mighty winter which caused a later than desired opening of the Park. Mother Nature is still
flexing her might as winter snow run-off continues. Our roads got hammered, but we’re getting some
patches put in as we wait for the Park to dry out. As an FYI the MAG treatment of the roads is July 18.
Expect some road grading happening before that and maybe keep your rigs off the road on the 18th
.
The electricity is on and running. While the temperatures up here are cool, we want to remind
everyone that we will need to be vigilant with our usage when it gets hot and when a lot of folks are in
the Park. It’s those pesky air conditioners that often push the grid over the limit.

The water is on but not yet drinkable. We are starting the sanitation process. We will need to send a
water sample to the state and get the green light before we can say its safe to drink. We plan on getting
the sample to the State Tuesday and should hear back from them by Thursday or Friday. Fingers
crossed! Expect a brief interruption of the water (1-2 hours) this Monday afternoon as we re-charge
the system.

Board of Directors changes: We would like to announce that Dave Tyszko has been elected President of
the BOD. His term lasts until after the annual meeting which will be held this September. The BOD also
recognizes Chris Fleming’s leadership and thank him for his service. There is a BOD position open for
Vice -President. This will last until 9/23. We appreciate your consideration for this position as we
appreciate having another person join our team. Please contact Dave Tyszko at
[email protected] by June 3 if interested.

Park Manager… Hooray!! We have one. Let me introduce you to Hans Bodenstedt. He has been hired as
our Park Manager. Hans has great experience and enthusiasm for the job. He’s working 32 hours a
week. You’ll see him securing the cabin, mowing and trimming. He will also be distributing the Parking
permits. (What?? See below). Let’s give him a warm welcome. The BOD is working on setting up a way
for you to communicate with him, (Give us a couple of weeks for this). In the meantime, if you see
something that you think Hans needs to know about, please contact a BOD. We’ll get the word out to
him.

Parking Permits: The BOD has listened to concerns about security within the Park. One step that we
started is having Members have Parking permits. These permits will be attached to the inside of the
windshield (on the driver’s side). The permits can easily be removed and placed on another windshield
(if you happen to buy another car…. Or if you need your windshield replaced). We are just starting the
process of identifying who is a Member or who is not (i.e. day visitor or guest). So look forward to Hans
coming around and distribute them.

That’s the buzz so far. We are thankful for having such a great Bear Lake community.
Cheers to a new season!
